I grew up in the Florida Keys on, in, and under the water as much as possible. I swam for the Bone Island Swim Club and Key West High School and swam open water each summer, competing yearly in the infamous 12.5-mile Swim Around Key West. When I graduated, I was among the top swimmers in the state and still own records at KWHS.
I coached swimming throughout college and beyond before taking a break to raise my kids and live in every corner of the country while my husband, Luke, served in the US Coast Guard. Our last station was in Alexandria, VA, where I founded a youth and adult triathlon team. We quickly grew from a handful of kids to over 100 members - from beginners to national youth elite qualifiers. I was also the head coach for six years for a summer swim team of about 80 swimmers with all-star qualifiers in a league of nearly 20,000 kids. There I founded a learn-to-swim and a parent and tot lesson program and managed a staff of assistant coaches. I was also an age-group and strength training coach for a USA Swimming team and taught rec gymnastics at a local gym. We've been coming to Mammoth for decades and, as you know, there's no place better! We currently split our time between Mammoth in the summer and Florida in the winter, where we just finished building a house. Thanks for the welcome and see you at the pool!

I first landed in June Lake December 2015. Then made Mammoth my home after spending winters working for Mammoth resorts, and for the past three seasons I have been with MMSST where I found my passion for coaching. Swim was a big part of my life growing up in Kansas City, many of my fondest memories were formed by the pool. Looking forward to sharing the fun and creating life long swimmers.

Hi, Im Katrionna (Kat for short) and I’m so excited to be coaching this season! I swam for the sharks for many years growing up and the sport has continued to be a big part of my life, so coming back to coach feels like a very full circle moment. I’m currently studying child psychology and plan to be an occupational therapist, so coaching lets me combine my love for sports with my passion for helping kids. I truly believe swimming is more than just a sport; it’s a wonderful way to bring people together and create lasting memories. I’m eager to help these kids not only improve their skills in the pool but also make memories they’ll cherish just as I did when I was their age. My approach is all about energy, kindness, and creating a fun, supportive environment where every swimmer can thrive!
