Cooler weather may have returned, but we are still heading towards the Summer!
10 and Under Champs is this weekend, this is a great meet and opportunity for the future of our program to shine! For those attending, please sign up for a timing slot HERE! It should be a great weekend and we know Paly well, almost as if it is a home pool for us now.
Please arrive at Palo Alto High School : TIME: Warm-ups 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM. Meet begins at 9:30 AM. Swimmers arrive at 8am for dynamic warm up. CHECK-IN: The meet will be deck seeded. Athletes must check-in at the Clerk-of-Course. Look for Coach Nicole- please note that we will want someone to bring at least 1 tent.
Move Ups: As many of you know, when we change locations, certain swimmers will be changing groups. We have 3 general move ups for our younger groups. One in September, one in January, and one in May. For Swimmers in Gold, there are only 2 moves, one in September and a very limited move in May or when a swimmer achieves a Junior National Time Standard (Winter/ Summer). As a note, swimmers will ONLY be moved into the Senior Group at the end of their 8th grade year or when they have achieved a Junior National Time Standard (Winter/ Summer). This has been our standard for over a decade and the coaches believe in this. We currently have swimmers attending Nationals this summer that were Farwestern Finalists heading into 8th grade that we kept in the Gold Group until they finished 8th grade. There is no group above the Senior Group. Please refer to THIS excerpt from our Welcome Packet sent out at the beginning of each season. Coaches will communicate first with athletes and then with parents. Any questions regarding move ups should go through the athlete to their current group coach.
May 3rd Block Party Meet: This is our HOSTED Meet! We are going to ask that ALL of our swimmers that are not in High School participate in our Block Party Meet on May 3rd! To Sign Up, please log into your account, click on the events tab, then select team events, click on “edit commitment” and declare that your swimmer WILL attend the meet. Follow this up with choosing your swimmers events. If there are any NT (no time) entries, please add a guess of a time in the notes section. We can’t wait to see you ALL there!
Move to Gunn and Paly High School for the Summer:
From May 5th through 30th, our non-member program will move to Gunn High School at the following schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Junior 1: 4-4:45p. Opt dryland 4:50-5p
Junior 2 : 4:45-5:30p, Dryland 4:15-4:45p
Red: 4:15- 5 pm
Silver: 4:30-6p, dryland 4-4:25p
JV: 5-6pm
Gold: Swim 4-5:45, Dryland 5:55-6:30
Tuesday and Thursday
Junior 1: 4:30 - 5:15p. Opt dryland 5:20-5:30p
Junior 2 : 5:15 - 6:00p, Dryland 4:45-5:15p
Red: 4:45- 5:30 pm
Silver: 5:00-6:30p, dryland 4:15-4:55p
JV: 5:30-6:30pm
Gold: Swim 4:30-6:00, Dryland 6:00-6:30
Senior Practices will remain as normal at FHCC
Saturday practices for Silver, Gold and Senior will stay as normal.
From June 2-July 31st: Our non-member program will move to Palo Alto High School.
