TVA's Big Start in March
Hey, Team!
It’s finally here – championship meet season! With the passing of this last C/B/A+ meet, we’re done with our regular meets until long course!
First off, I’d like to congratulate all of the swimmers who ended the regular season with a huge BANG last weekend – best times came from almost everyone at the meet! Olivia Aquino, Mattias Blanco, Amber Fornoles, Courtney Lau, Sydney Lu, Tyler Lu, Arjun Nimmakayala, Cole Reznick, Jordan Reznick, Tessie Scavone, Caleb Wagner, Jordan Wagner, and Andrew Wang each went at least one best time. Courtney and Tyler both picked up a couple new JO and Far Western times, too, and every single race Mattias swam was a personal best!
But they weren’t the only ones who were representing TVA this past weekend. Thomas Gjerde and Claire Suen were both selected for the Pacific Swimming Zones All-Star meet, which was on Sunday in Novato, CA! Claire went best times achieving some new Western Zones Consideration Times. Winning 50 and 100 free events and was on two winning relays. Her 200 Free relay shattered the meet record that had been held for 9 years. Thomas also helped his relay team to victory with his blazingly quick 50 fly leg of the 200 Medley Relay.
While this weekend was the end of the season for many of us, there’s still two more huge meets for a lot of our swimmers: the Junior Olympics and Far Westerns Championships! JO’s are just two weeks away, and Far Westerns are right around the corner, too, which means it’s really crunch time. Make sure you’re always at practice and working your hardest – and listening to what your coaches say (not that we’re not ALWAYS at practice, trying our hardest, hanging on to every word that comes out of the coaches’ mouths…)! Everything you do now will affect your swims at the bigger meets!
That being said, keep up the good work!
See you ‘round the pool!
