Speedo 2019 Winter Junior Championships

The Speedo 2019 Winter Junior (West) Championships was held in Federal Way, Washington December 11^th-14^th, 2019.  Many of the top junior swimmers, 18 and younger, in the United States showcased their speed and talents in this championship meet.  

The Pleasanton Seahawks sent three qualifiers: Andy Wang, Allen Dempster, and Alex Ren.  Andy Wang’s best performance was 30^th place on 1650y Free (15:44.88).  Andy also raced to a personal best time for 40^th place 500y Free (4:32.33).  Allen Dempster showed his strength in backstroke events powering to 33^rd place 100y Back (49.50) and 55^th place 200y back (1:50.41).  Alex Ren had a busy schedule racing in five events with his top finish 51^st place 400y IM (4:00.32).  Alex’s other races include 200y IM (1:52.92) with personal best times in 200y Free (1:43.12), 200y Back (1:50.99), and 100y Fly (50.03).  These young swimmers had a successful meet while achieving many personal best times and earning valuable experience in a national-level competition.
