Speedo 2019 CA-NV Sectionals

The Speedo 2019 CA-NV Sectionals Swimming Championships was held in Monterey Park, California December 13^th-16^th, 2019.  Many of the top clubs from California and Nevada competed in this championship meet.  The Pleasanton Seahawks (PLS) swept the three top awards: 1^st Place Team Award, Overall Top Male award to Taber Dacosta, and Overall Top Female award to Sydney Lu.

Many PLS swimmers stood atop the podium to accept their medals, which totaled 30 medals overall – 8 golds, 9 silvers, 2 bronzes, and 11 others (4^th – 8^th place).  The top 13 PLS medalists were: Sydney Lu (four golds - 100y/200y Fly and 200y/400y IM; two silvers - 1000y Free and 400y Medley Relay; 8^th place 100y Breaststroke), Taber Dacosta (gold 400y IM; two silvers – 500y/1650y Free; two bronzes – 400y Medley Relay and 800y Free Relay; and two 6^th place – 200y Breaststroke and 200y IM), Lleyton Plattel (three golds – 200y/500y/1650y Free; silver 200y Fly; two bronzes - 400y Medley Relay and 800y Free Relay), Olivia Kim (two silvers – 400y/800y Free Relay; 5^th place 1650y Free; and 8^th place 1000y Free), Alexis Mesina (three silvers – 100y/200y Breaststroke and 400y Medley Relay), Mackenzie Lee (two silvers - 400y Free Relay and 400y Medley Relay; and 6^thplace 100y Free),  Ethan N. Wang (bronze 800y Free Relay; 4^th place 1000y Free; and 6^th place 1650y Free), Andy Eun (bronze 400y Medley Relay; and two 5^th places - 100y/200y Breaststroke), Gwyneth Wong (2 silvers – 400y Free Relay and 400 Medley Relay), Crystal Wang (two silvers – 400y/800y Free Relay), Justin Tsai (two bronzes - 400y Medley Relay and 800y Free Relay), Faith Carroll (silver 800y Free Relay and 6^th place 1650y Free), and Kaitlin Lee (silver 800y Free Relay).

Other notable finalists earning team points for PLS were: Devyn Caples (400y IM, 1000y/1650y Free, 400y Free Relay, and 400y/800y Medley Relays), Meghan Ly (100y/200y Breaststroke and 400y Medley Relay), Breuklynn Harris (100y Breaststroke and 400y Free Relay), Yassin Dwidar (200y Breaststroke and 400y Free Relay), Hayden Tupper (400y Free Relay and 400y/800y Medley Relays), Jay Jani (400y Free Relay and 400y/800y Medley Relays), Florence Lin (400y Free Relay and 400y Medley Relay), and Francesca Hawkins (800y Free Relay).
