Spring Meets Update

So many Spring meets, so many great results:

SRST Champs Qualifier Meet 2/20-2/23 @ Snohomish Aquatic Center

There are many ways to have success at a meet, we quantify placing (you don’t have much control over who you are racing against) but there are other ways to measure success: best time swims (improving skill levels), executing proper technique (trying a turn, underwater kicking or diving from the blocks), race prep (being at your races on time & warmed up ready to race), feeling easy speed at the beginning of your race, cheering for teammates (being engaged in the experience of being on a team) achieving a goal you have been working towards and enjoying the process of racing & challenging yourself (keeping a positive mindset in the face of adversity). Help your swimmer feel success by including more ways to be successful than just the color of ribbon they won.

At this meet Heat winners got necklace bling and ribbons were awarded  through 8th place.

CSC Mystery Meet @ Snohomish Aquatic Center 3/1-3/2

The “mystery” part of this meet were the prizes! And not just for heat winners but for any swimmer achieving a personal best time in their race that day. Swimmers reached their hand into a box and pulled out a prize. Fun was had by all as everyone achieved one or more personal best time finishes and got a prize out of the mystery box. The older swimmers had prelims/finals meet format with the top 3 finishers awarded medals. BISC medalists were: Avery Britt( 2nd 50 Brst, 3rd 50 Fly, 50 FR, 100FR, & 50 BK), Desmond Shutt (3rd 100 Fly), Aiden Johnson (1st 50 BK, 3rd 100 BK) & Bradley Roloff (1st 50 FR). Congratulations to Avery Britt who got her Regionals qualifying time!

PPST Spring Splash Meet @ Olympic Aquatic Center  3/08-3/09  @ OAC.

This meet was a short drive away and gave us a peek at the pool we will be training at when the Ray pool closes. The swims & relays showed that the pool is fast with many having best time performances. Congratulations to Spencer Slowik who picked up an additional Regional cut in the 100 free (1:09).We had two other swimmers miss their cut by the slimmest of margins who inspired us all with their efforts. There were rubber ducks for heat winners and ribbons 1st-6th. Bainbridge had a loud & proud cheering section and several BISC officials helped out (Julee Longridge, Yumiko Inoue, and John Boydon)
