Open Water Jr. Nationals 2025

Open Water Jr. Nationals re-cap Tessa Hurguy was the only swimmer from PNS to be represented in Sarasota Florida this April at Open Water Nationals.  This was Tessa's first Junior Nationals and first Jr national level 5K.  She swam the distance in Open Water in a time of 1 hour nine minutes and placed 16th for 15 and Under Girls. 55 girls started the race. The sun was shining, winds were 12mph and there was some fun racing going on.  Tessa did an amazing job and we are so proud of her. This was great exposure for our team and hopefully gets others interested in this kind of swim racing. Open Water Zones are in Idaho this August and that will be an opportunity for more of our athletes to take a whack at OW.  There will be qualifying times from some distance races, so it will not be available for all athletes. Once the lakes warm a bit, we will try to organize some outings for experience and fun. Way to go Tessa, way to go BISC!
