Bob Miller Sprint/Distance Meet Re-Cap & Updates

LEILANI TONSMANN

What a great weekend of swimming. Two Bluefins came home with the High Point Ferry Boats, Lily Rehder for the girls and Wyatt Majors for the boys.  Well done you two, way to keep it in the family. Thank you Mr. Britt for making the Ferry Boat trophies and allowing us to keep with this great tradition.

Thank you to all of our support staff / board members / officials and parent volunteers that make this thing really work.  We got great feedback from the other teams, our kids swam so well and it was nice not to travel to KCAC for once. BAM Coach Tamara and her husband built the digital scoreboard that was used at our meet (THANK YOU !!!), it worked wonderfully and made it easy for folks to see how their kids were doing.

We haven’t parsed through all the results yet due to the long weekend, but there were so many best times and great things we saw in the execution of races and our fitness levels.. We had a couple missed races, but felt that was due to the log jam on the other side of the pool more so than anything else.  The stagers had a really challenging job with the traffic and the noise….I am surprised we didn’t have more misses honestly.

We have our fundraiser challenge swim this Friday and then we are on the road for all of the championship meets.  Our Booster Board has been working hard getting the messaging out on the swim challenge, working the T&C folks and bringing in the big bucks for our team. Thank you for all the energy and support for our club. At last glance, it appears as if we have met our goal and are now exceeding it (which is how we like it :). Well done BISC!

Buckle up, the big dark is upon us.......so moving forward let's focus on staying healthy, getting our rest, keeping grades up, eating well and hydrating. I notice when the weather gets colder the kids are cramping more (this is usually due to drinking less during the day). Keep the water flowing folks. Electrolytes may be needed as well.

When the sun is out, get outdoors. Put the screens down, play a tactile or physical game with friends and let the brain rest for a few.

Lets keep building our strength and speed moving into this next phase of our season, but also remembering:

-Process over outcome

-Speed before air :)

-Details matter (streamline, sub kicks, head down finish)

Lets have a great November!

Cheers

Your BISC Coaching Staff
