WEST Weekly

Dear Swimmers and Parents,

Welp, there goes September. It’s already October, Halloween and Thanksgiving aren’t too far out and we are entering meet season! Its starting to get cold at night, so please make sure your kids are dressed warm after practice. There’s a ton of germs going around, so stay hydrated, take your vitamins and get enough rest.

WEST Athlete featured in Seattle Times

Maddie Pressler was featured in an article for Jackson High School swimming. We are very proud of her achievements and humble attitude. Click here to read the article.

Garage Sale – THIS SATURDAY!

We will be accepting donations all-day Friday, Oct 3rd for our annual Fall Garage and Bake Sale. We ask that all families help by donating used items or a baked item to sell. We will also need some volunteers (although it does not count towards your meet volunteer requirement). Please use the Job Sign-Up found by clicking here.

Officials Clinic – THIS SATURDAY!

WEST really needs new entry-level Stroke and Turn Officials in order to host efficient swim meets. You will find it rewarding and enjoyable to volunteer as a swimming official (great people to work with, great seats at the pool, a better understanding of swimming and great food).

The next Stroke and Turn Clinic is THIS Saturday (Oct 4th) between 9-12am at the Mill Creek Community Association building (next to WEST).  Please contact Dan Limberg ([email protected], 425-583-7672) or Ron Van Pool ([email protected]) to sign up.  The $10 clinic fee and registration fees are reimbursed by WEST.  For more information, please contact Dan Limberg or another WEST Swimming Official.

October Challenge Next Weekend

Entries have been sent for the October Challenge. All groups, except Senior Elite will be participating. Entries are found by clicking the “Swim Team” tab and then clicking on “Meet Entries”.

New Swimmer Volunteer Program for Senior & Senior Elite Athletes

We are starting a volunteer program for our athletes to get community service. They will volunteer to help coach our Pre-Competitive Team on Saturdays from 12:30-1:30pm. We have a sign-up sheet posted next to the door exiting the pool area. We need 3 swimmers each Saturday and 6 swimmers on the last Saturday of each month. This is a great way to get some coaching experience, community service and give back to our next generation of swimmers! Speak with Coach Bryan for more details.
