WEST Weekly
Dear Swim Fans,
Here comes swim meet season! Our swimmers will compete at the October Challenge this weekend and set their mark for this short course season.
Here is the link for the October Challenge Meet Information. They haven’t posted the timeline yet, but check back regularly and it will be posted soon. The Meet Announcement link listed will have warm-up times and what sessions swimmers compete in.
Here is the link for the WEST Swimmers Meet Entries. You can find what events your swimmer is entered in.
Practice Schedule Changes This Week
Friday – NO Early AM Practice, normal schedule Friday PM
Saturday – NO Practice for Explore, Discover, Challenge, Accelerate or Senior.
Senior Elite will practice 8-11am. Normal Pre-Comp practice.
Free Oven
We have a kitchen oven that was donated at our Yardsale last weekend. It did not sell and Goodwill wouldn’t take it, so if anyone wants it, please take it. If it isn’t picked up by the weekend, we will throw it away.
Great Sale for Arena items, hurry!
Anyone planning on buying a racing tech-suit for championship season (not to be worn at regular meets), should check out the Get Race Ready sale that Arena is doing. Select suits are over $100 off, contact Northwest Swim Shop to inquire and place orders.
Saturday, October 25 – WEST Clean Up Day
We plan to have a clean up day from 8am-12pm on Saturday, October 25th. We plan to focus on the parking lot, front of the building and patio area. We ask that people bring some basic tools with them and if anyone has access to getting gravel or mulch donated, please speak with Nick or Jeff Chow. Job Sign-Ups are available here.
Team Equipment – Coming Soon
Team equipment has arrived at NW Swim Shop, but is now being embroidered. We hope to see it trickle in over the next few weeks, thanks for your patience.
West Master's Corner
The masters team at West Coast Aquatics is a group of 8-12 individuals who love to get together at the pool for a great workout, excellent instruction, and a lot of fun. We meet Mon, Wed, Fri from 9:00 - 10:30AM and benefit from a pretty amazing coaching staff. Bryan takes Monday, and Nick coaches us Wed and Fri. They do a very nice job balancing instruction with hard work. Also, on a more informal basis, some of us swim self-coached Tues and Thurs 7 - 8:30 AM. Someone always brings some kind of work-out to do.
The group consists of all interests and levels. From IronMan triathletes to people who just want to get better at swimming. Some of us enter open water swims around the Northwest, some swim the various pool meets through the fall and winter. But all simply enjoy swimming and working hard. So come join us at one of our workouts.
happy swimming.
