Dear WEST swim family,

Congratulations to all WEST swimmers that competed last weekend at the Northwest Age Group Regional Championships. Top finalists include Elli Straume, Max Fang, Justin Limberg and Neal Thai. Good luck this weekend to our swimmers competing at USA Swimming’s Senior Sectional Championships.

Swim-A-Thon Letter Writing Party – THIS SATURDAY!

In an effort to maximize our Swim-A-Thon donations, we set aside time each year for all swimmers to write letters to friends, family and local businesses to solicit donations for Swim-A-Thon. We provide form letters, postage and parents cook breakfast for the swimmers. Please plan for the following times, in addition to your normal Saturday practice.

• Elite: 9-10am
• Senior: 8:30-9:30am
• Accelerate: 10:30-11:30am
• Challenge: 11am-12pm
• Discover: 10:30-11:30am
• Explore: 11:30am-12:30pm
• Pre-Comp: will receive packets after practice

Divisional Champs – NEXT FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Reminder that Divisional Champs is next Friday and Saturday (NOT Sunday) so kids will need to miss school to attend. We understand that missing school for Swim Meets is not ideal, however these kids work very hard throughout the entire season and this effort culminates at the end of each season with Championship meets.

Practice Schedule Spring Break

With kids ranging across multiple school districts, we do our best, but it is impossible to meet everyone’s schedule demands. Here are the breaks for each group:

Explore & Discover:

Monday – Saturday April 4^th-9^th: OFF

Challenge, Accelerate, Senior & Elite:

Friday & Saturday April 1^st-2^nd: OFF

Friday & Saturday April 8^th-9^th: OFF

Swim-A-Thon Date Change

After learning that our first choice for Swim-A-Thon was during Spring Break, we decided to move it back one week so we can have more swimmers participate. Here is the schedule:

Elite & Senior: 4-6pm Friday, April 15^th

Accelerate, Challenge, Discover, Explore: 8:30-10:30am Saturday, April 16^th

PreComp: 11:30am-12:30pm Saturday, April 16th

Meet Schedule Change – CLOSED OUT of Dick LaFave

The Dick LaFave meet filled very quickly and unfortunately WEST was not able to get in. We were able to enter many of our swimmers in the Mayflowers Meet the following weekend. For those swimmers that do not qualify for Mayflowers, we are planning to co-host a meet at WEST with Golds Aquatics. We want our swimmers to have another chance at bettering their times while minimizing the strain on parent volunteers.
