WEST Weekly

Dear West Aquatic Community,
Thank you for your patience while we close for repairs today and tomorrow. The work on the blocks is going as planned and the windows will be worked on mostly tomorrow after it can dry out better.

Kara Lynn Joyce @ WEST Last Week
I hope everyone got to meet and experience Kara Lynn Joyce at practices last weekend. She had some amazing stories and advice for the swimmers. This was truly a unique and special opportunity and we hope all our swimmers and parents took advantage.

“Swimming in College” Coaches Panel @ Bellevue Club – November 1st
The Bellevue Club Swim team is hosting a College Coaches Panel on Tuesday, November 1st, from 6:00PM to 10:00PM and we’d love to invite high school aged swimmers and families to the event. The panel will be held at the Bellevue Club in one of the ballrooms. Click here for the event link. The goal of this panel is to provide an insight on the recruiting process. Each college coach in attendance will speak about the recruiting process for their universities. In addition, there will be plenty of Q&A opportunities at the end for any questions swimmers and families may have.

WEST Needs Another Admin Official
GREAT OPPORTUNITY:  Looking for someone with good paperwork skills and an interest to be part of the Officials Team.  The Administrative Official assists the referee with the processing of entries and changes, determination of the official results and publication of official results (and a few other items).  As with all Officials, you get to work with an excellent team and all of the other perks of officiating (best seat in the house, breaks, food, job satisfaction, …).  There will be an AO Clinic during the November AGI hosted by WEST (November 19th at 10am) being conducted by one of the best Admin Refs in the country.  SPACE IS LIMITED to the first 8 to sign up (many other teams are interested).  Visit the officials page of PNS swimming to sign up. Please contact Aline Bensen, Hera Phung or Dan Limberg if you have questions.

November 6th Home Meet Cancelled
With everything going on recently, we’ve had to cancel the November 6 th pentathlon meet at WEST.

Thanks for staying up-to-date with what's going on. Happy Swimming.
