Thank you for everyone that made it to the clinic with Coach Christen Shefchunas this past weekend. We had a great time hosting her and her talks were invaluable about creating a positive, competitive mindset at meets and practices for all ages.
Veterans Day
Sunday, November 11th is Veterans Day where we give thanks and honor all persons who served in the United States Armed Forces. Observance of this holiday will take place on Monday the 12th of November, however there will be NO CHANGE to practice schedules that day including as well as NO CHANGE to our lessons schedule. All programs will run as normal.
Last Week of Sr & SrE Morning Practices
This will be the last week for Senior and Senior Elite morning practices as they head into their new phase of training. Coach Nick will be sending out more specific information to those groups.
Parking Lot
Last week, there was a reported incident of hit and run that happened in our parking lot during swim lessons. If you have know of any information, please contact the front office at [email protected]. We are reviewing the security footage of the incident and any supplementary information would be helpful.
We are also looking into a breaking and entering incident on WEST premises. As a friendly reminder, please ensure that vehicles are locked and all valuables safely stored away. WEST has scheduled for new parking lot lights to be installed as well as installing extra security cameras throughout our facility to maximize safety for our patrons.
WEST prides ourselves with creating a safe, responsible space and we would hope that our patrons and visitors share similar values.
Some hints and tips for general safety:
- Please do not drop off swimmers earlier than 15 minutes before their scheduled practice / lesson.
- Parents are expected to be on WEST premises for swim lessons. For PreComp and team swimmer, parents are not required to stay on premises for the duration of practice.
- Children should not be playing unsupervised in the parking lot. Children are allowed to congregate in the green room and front entryway outside. If children are found playing in the parking lot, they will be asked to wait with their parents. Children should not play on the landscaping and trees to avoid injuries.
- Lock cars, and keep valuables locked in lockers or safely put away in a bag on deck. WEST is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Please keep lights on and drive safely when navigating the parking lot. Follow all marked traffic signs and DO NOT IDLE at the entrance.
- Please report any suspicious behavior to WEST management immediately.
Seating On-Deck
As some parents have pointed out, our seating on deck is very limited during lessons as the seating is split between team parents, lesson parents, and PreComp parents. Priority will be given to lessons parents when finding seating during their lessons. We ask that all bags, clothes and personal items be kept underneath in the cubbies or safely locked in the locker room to maximize seating on deck. Additional seating can be found in the green room.
Changes for the Week of 11/5 – 11/11
No Changes to practice schedule. All groups will practice as normal including on Monday, November 12th. Weekend PreComp and lessons will meet as normal on Sunday, November 11th.
No Changes to lap swim schedule.
