WEST Weekly
Good Afternoon WEST Swamily:
Happy Veterans’ Day! Remember to go out and thank your fellow service men and women who are or have served in our nation’s armed forces. Their hard work and dedication is deeply appreciated by everyone at WEST. Please look read through this week’s information when you get a chance. Remember, there are no dumb questions; just questions that have already been answered in a WEST weekly email.
Congratulations to Girl’s High School State Competitors!
We had some incredible swims from our WEST ladies that competed at KCAC this past weekend with girls from around the state. Great job to girls! WEST would like to give a few shout-outs to their fast swims:
Eli Straume placed 2nd in the 200 free, 3rd in the 500 free
Heidi Ly placed 11th in the 200 IM, 5th in the 100 back
Ava Collinge placed 3rd in 100 fly
Caitlyn Anderson placed 13th in 100 free
Megan Chow placed 16th in 100 back
Cheyenne Kreide placed 17th in 100 breaststroke
Grace Morgan placed 10th in 500 Free
Team Orders Have Come In!
If you placed a team order for an apparel from September, they are IN and ready to be picked up. Please stop by the front office during office hours to grab your apparel! There are a lot of goods that are looking for a home! We also have our 2018-2019 team shirts for our swimmers and have been handed out on Friday and Saturday of last week. If they haven’t received their shirt, please have them contact their group coach.
Our cap order HAS NOT come in yet, so we will be giving those out as soon as they arrive! Swimmers will either receive 2 latex caps or 1 silicone cap, as soon as the order comes in. Additional caps and other swim gear is available for purchase at the front office.
November AGI is THIS WEEKEND
Entries have been placed online so please double check if your swimmer is attending. A Gold Time standard has to have been achieved to be able to participate in this meet. AGI will be at Juanita High School in Kirkland on Saturday & Sunday this weekend. More information can be found on PNS.org as well as on the Meet Announcement.

- Space Rented 1:00 - 2:00pm in Green Room, 2:00 - 3:00pm, 2 lanes. (limited lap / open swim)
- Swim Team Rented lane space: 2:30 - 4:30pm, 2 lanes. (limited lap / open swim)
Team Letter Jacket & Varsity Sweater Fitting
On Saturday, 11/17 at 9:00am, we have the pleasure of having Letter Jacket & Varsity Sweater fittings for Senior & Senior Elite swimmers. Attached to this email is a mock up image of the jacket. We unfortunately do not have a mock up image for the varsity jackets. The mock ups may look a bit skewed to accommodate for stitching / embroidery. To view, please click here.
Parking Lot Safety
As a friendly reminder, please ensure that vehicles are locked and all valuables safely stored away. WEST has scheduled for new parking lot lights to be installed as well as installing extra security cameras throughout our facility to maximize safety for our patrons.
WEST prides ourselves with creating a safe, responsible space and we would hope that our patrons and visitors share similar values.
Some hints and tips for general safety:
- Please do not drop off swimmers earlier than 15 minutes before their scheduled practice / lesson.
- Parents are expected to be on WEST premises for swim lessons. For PreComp and team swimmer, parents are not required to stay on premises for the duration of practice.
- Children should not be playing unsupervised in the parking lot. Children are allowed to congregate in the green room and front entryway outside. If children are found playing in the parking lot, they will be asked to wait with their parents. Children should not play on the landscaping and trees to avoid injuries.
- Lock cars, and keep valuables locked in lockers or safely put away in a bag on deck. WEST is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Please keep lights on and drive safely when navigating the parking lot. Follow all marked traffic signs and DO NOT IDLE at the entrance.
- Please report any suspicious behavior to WEST management immediately.
