Great job to all of our swimmers that competed at Cascade Fall Classic and swam their way closer to their goals! It was a very busy meet and our swimmers did a great job of supporting one another, following warmup rules, and cheering on each other through their races. As a coaching staff, we can’t wait to see what else we can accomplish as a team! Read on for more Weekly happenings:
Volunteering!
WEST is in search of Meet Announcers, Computer / Timing system operators, and Clerk of Course personnel. All positions will receive training prior to running the position independently. These positions are only for parents who have been with the team for at least one year. Please contact Coach Margaret at [email protected].

*REMINDER*: We are happy to see people are getting their volunteer hours in, however, WEST must stress the importance about mandatory volunteering at KCAC meets that take place in the spring. As discussed in our parent meetings All families, whether they have previously met their requirement or not, will still be required to work at KCAC a minimum of 1 session.
Volunteer Hours System Reset
Please disregard service hour numbers until after November 1st so that WEST can update our system. Coach M has been keeping track and will input correct hours after the update.
Practice Changes this Week
Thursday, October 31st:
NO PRACTICE for Embark or Explore. Happy Halloween!
Friday, November 1st: Veterans Day Recognition Meet.
Senior, Senior Elite, Challenge, Accelerate: swim at meet through 6:30pm
Discover, Explore, Embark: Normal Practices starting at 6:30pm
Saturday, November 2nd:
Senior & Senior Elite AM 7 - 9am
Accelerate, Challenge, Discover, Explore, Embark: NO PRACTICE. @meet
Group lessons, PreComp & SwimFit: Normal Practices
*Reminder*
Clarification to warmup times for Saturday: Warmups begin at 2:30, NOT 1:30. We will not allow parents to set up until 2:15 to allow for other WEST programs to finish at 2:00pm.
AM Practices for Senior and Accelerate Groups
NO EARLY AM practices for Senior Groups starting this week. Accelerate's LAST early morning will be this Thursday, October 31st. As we shift into the next training phase, we need the swimmers to increase their amount of sleep given the increase in training intensity. Any swimmers using the mornings to make up missed practices will need to speak with their individual coaches to determine a plan to meet the attendance requirements.
Private Lesson Changes
WEST has recently set up an online platform through Setmore to schedule all private lessons. Payment will need to be made online prior to completing registration via credit card from now on. Private Lessons rates will also be increased starting November 1 to offset service fees.
