Coronavirus Update
Coronavirus Update
We wanted to reach out to everyone with an update on our response to the COVID-19 virus and current plan for the upcoming swim meets. So far, we have not had a confirmed case within our community at WEST but we need to continue to be vigilant.
We have increased our daily cleaning measures to include disinfecting all surfaces (pool deck, benches, doors, desks, chairs, etc.) and heavy traffic areas are being wiped down multiple times throughout the day. We’ve bumped the chlorine level in the pool slightly and have provided hand sanitizer throughout the facility. By nature, the pool facility is a hard place for the virus to survive – the humidity along with how much air is moved through the HVAC system along with how frequent we naturally have to clean the place to fight other outbreaks, means we were already taking preventative measures. All the medical experts are reiterating there is no need to avoid public gatherings unless you yourself are sick and to encourage people to use good hand hygiene.
If you are concerned about symptoms or possible exposure, stay home and contact your health care provider. Any swimmers that show up with visible symptoms may be sent home, at the coaching staff’s discretion. Please communicate with us regarding any confirmed cases or direct exposure to confirmed cases so we can continue to take appropriate action. Please note, we will not be issuing any refunds for missed lessons or practices.
Both NW Regionals and Senior Sectionals are planning to happen as scheduled. KCAC is run by King County Parks & Recreation, so ultimately any decision to cancel or reschedule the meet will fall to them. Continue to monitor the
PNS website and if a decision is made regarding these meets, we will notify everyone accordingly.
Although we are actively responding to this public health issue, we are doing our best to stay calm and operate as normal as possible. Our entire staff has stepped up in many ways – the increased cleaning and hygiene, dealing with concerned parents and keeping things “normal” for the kids. We appreciate everyone’s support and ability to stay calm and polite during this time of concern.
Sincerely,
West Management
