Pandemic Update
West Community,
We hope everyone is staying safe during this unprecedented time. We wanted to give everyone a brief update with how we are responding to the pandemic and hopefully answer some common questions. Even though we are shut down right now, our full-time employees are continuing to work, focusing on facility projects that cannot be done during normal operations and spacing ourselves well away from each other. We have shut down as much of the pool as we can to reduce our costs, but some items like the pool pump, pool chemicals and HVAC system must keep running even though we are closed.
At this point in time, we are hopeful that we will be allowed to reopen April 1
st and until we hear otherwise, will plan on it. We are not doing any refunds or credits for the month of March, however if our closure extends into April, we will reassess. We are currently considering our options but ultimately must wait until we receive notice that the closure is being extended, so we have more information to make a more informed decision. We are participating in discussions at the PNS, Zone and USA Swimming level, working on relief funding from the bigger organizations and getting an idea of what other teams are doing.
For swim team, we are going to start a home workout program. This will follow our dryland program and Senior Elite swimmers will be getting access to Engineered Sports dryland app “Swim Strong”. Coaches will be individually reaching out to their respective groups with a weekly training plan.
We will follow up with more information as the situation unfolds.
Stay safe, healthy and vigilant,
Coach Nick
