In Response to the Current Events

WEST took last week to reflect on how we as an organization can meaningfully address institutionalized racism and be an ally to our communities of color. Our intention was to listen, learn, and act with educated conviction. We recognize that remaining silent becomes part of the problem and we appreciate your patience.

 

WEST stands against racism and are always working towards becoming a more inclusive environment. We strive for accountability, equity, and fairness & we value honesty, integrity and justice. With that in mind, we join the call for change.

 

WEST will to strive to be socially diverse in the following ways:

 

-Require diversity, equity, and inclusion training for all employees & coaches.

-Creation of community & team diversity education. 

-Continuation of outreach programs that are socially inclusive.

 

We love and celebrate the diversity of our community, and look forward to when we can return to what connects us; our shared passion for swimming in a hate-free space. We will continue to listen and learn and are committed to long term change in the face of racism.
