Covid Case Response

Nick Chevalier
Dear West Community,

We need to inform everyone that we received notice that one of our water aerobics patrons has tested positive for Covid-19. This person was getting a routine test before an unrelated medical procedure and has only shown very mild symptoms. This person was last in the facility on Thursday 10/29 at 7:45-9:15am. Those persons with the potential exposure have been notified and are strongly encouraged to get tested. We are suspending Water Aerobics until Thursday 11/12. Our lifeguard staff that was on duty at the time will obtain a negative Covid test and/or quarantine as needed before returning to work. The facility has been deeply sanitized as part of normal operations every day since Thursday and we took extra and immediate cleaning measures when we were first notified today.

We are confident in our operations and protocols;  they were designed to protect against the further spread of Covid, if and when a positive case entered the facility. Given the current infection rates and size of our community, this was only a matter of time and needs to be a reminder for each of us, to be extra diligent regarding social distancing, masks and hygiene. Stay home if you are showing symptoms and get tested if they don't go away. We will update everyone of any further confirmed cases that may have exposed the facility.
