Hello WEST Families & Friends,
 
We are beginning to wrap up the month of January and Brrrr have we had some windy weather - make sure you and your swimmers are dressed warmly when you venture outside. Don't forget to take any necessary precautions to prevent sickness and the spread of COVID during these winter months! We have a new hand sanitizer station (courtesy of the City of Mill Creek ) located at the front office that can help our fight against germs! Read on for this week's happenings:
 
Weekend Meets for February and March
We are able to resume competitions following current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. This will be our first sanctioned swim meet since the middle of November and will be a great opportunity for all team swimmers to participate in. Please view WEST's Events page to learn more information as well as to attend / decline the meet. Volunteer information for these meets have also been emailed out to team families!
 
Weekend Lap Swim
Now that PNS has reopened sanctioned meets, WEST will be renting out pool space for other local teams to run meets that may not have reliable access to a pool during this time. Due to this, we will be suspending lap swim on weekends only beginning February 6th, 2021. WEST Management is looking at other options that we can expand lap swim times to help accommodate for the inconvenience - any updates will be sent out in a future email.
 
Weekend Practice Schedule Changes  - Starts Feb. 6th!
These changes are set to begin on Saturday, February 6th. Groups will remain on the same day that they have usually been practicing at. 
Explore: 2:30 - 3:30pm
Embark: 2:30 - 3:30pm
PreComp M/W/Sat: 2:00 - 2:30pm
PreComp T/Th/Sun: 2:00 - 2:30pm
SwimFit M/W/Sat: 2:00 - 2:30pm
SwimFit T/Th/Sun: 2:00 - 2:30pm
All other practice groups: Remain at same time & day.
 
Accelerate Dryland Reminder
Accelerate parents: please refer to the email sent by Coach Tim regarding dryland that starts February 1st.

Blue Seventy is releasing new models for their wetsuits come February, so they are discounting the 2020 Fusion and 2020 Helix, selling them for 50% off. WEST has been working to expand our open water opportunities that we offer, so if you were interested before in purchasing a quality wetsuit, now might be a great time for you!
