Hello WEST families,
It’s that special time of year again! Welcome to our annual team fundraiser, Swimathon! Swimathon is for all of our club team swimmers to help WEST but to also share with others the impact swimming has had on them. Below is all the info you'll need to start your 2021 fundraising off with a bang:
What is Swim-A-Thon?
Every year, swim teams across the nation host a fundraiser, SwimAThon, during which the kids swim 200 laps (or for 2hrs, whichever comes first) and ask for donations from family, friends, and local businesses for their teams. The fundraiser is put on in part by USA Swimming, so 95% of proceeds go directly to our WEST team and 5% goes to USA Swimming Foundation. This year, we will be donating the 5% to Food Lifeline, a non profit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington. This year will look different than in years past, but we are still ready to have fun!

Spread the word and let your friends, family, neighbors and local businesses know how important the sport of swimming is to you and your swimmer. Not only are donors supporting WEST, they are also supporting the sport of swimming, learn to swim educational programs, as well as fighting hunger locally! We have a Sample Informational Letter found on the website (Click Here).

Direct them to the WEST website & your swimmers profile so that they can contribute to your swimmer. We are also able to do offline donations - cash / check can be mailed into our physical address - just make sure they indicate that it is for your swimmer! Top Earners will win prizes from USA Swimming & WEST!

All donations are 100% tax deductible. Donors that would like a receipt can email into Coach Tim for a Swimathon Receipt!
Although our Swimathon will be happening in person next week, we will be collecting donations until Monday, May 24th, 2021. Any swimmers that do not make their minimum requirement will be billed the difference on June 1st. (Read our Team Information page regarding Fundraising here.)

2019 Accelerate & Explore Swimathon Winners
As many families remember, our Swimathon 2 years ago was a competition where our training groups competed to see who could raise the most. The group winners (Accelerate & Explore) were to win a trip to Wild Waves during the summer. Due to the updates with SafeSport & then the global pandemic, scheduling this trip has been unsuccessful.
To honor this in the best way we can, any Accelerate / Explore winners from 2019 are able to contact Coach Tim for a select WEST ProShop prize of their choosing. Please email in by April 17th, 2021 to schedule a time for your swimmer to pick up their consolation prize.
