Positive COVID-19 Case & Potential Exposure Thursday 9/23 between 5:45-6:45pm

It is with regret we must inform everyone we've had a swimmer from our Pre-Comp group test positive for COVID-19. This person tested positive on Friday 9/24 and was last at the facility Thursday 9/23 between the hours of 5:45pm and 6:45pm. As a precautionary measure, the Tue/Thu/Sun Pre-Comp group will be canceled through Sunday 10/3 and will resume on Tuesday 10/5. Most symptoms will appear within 7 days, so we are going to cancel in-person programming for adjacent groups and will resume in-person on Wednesday 9/29. We strongly urge all Tues/Thurs/Sun Pre-Comp swimmers and encourage those in adjacent programs to get tested as quickly as possible.

Tue/Thu Explore
Tue/Thu Embark
Tue/Thu Lessons @ 5:30pm, 6:00pm, and 6:30pm
 
Our Pre-Comp Coach is fully vaccinated, hasn't shown any symptoms, and received a negative test result today. We believe this is a contained, isolated situation at this time. From our experience with previous cases at WEST, COVID-19 does not spread easily between individuals in a chlorinated setting. We have had 3 previous confirmed cases and have seen zero transmissions occur at the facility.
 
As a reminder, if you have shown any symptoms of COVID-19, you must refrain from coming to the facility and we strongly recommend you get tested as soon as possible. 
 
We would also like to reiterate our very firm mask policy: you must wear a mask at all times while in the facility, unless you are directly in the water. We will make mask storage bins available for use again. Swimmers must bring a plastic or silicone bag to put their mask in before putting them into the bins. We will not have reusable / disposable bags available.
 
Coaches of the impacted groups will communicate your group's virtual programming for this evening and tomorrow. Lessons, Pre-Comp and SwimFit families will receive a separate email with how we plan to credit for the cancelled classes. Monday & Wednesday groups and classes are not impacted and will continue as normally scheduled.
