Positive Covid Case - Accelerate Group Wed 1/19 4-6pm
Attention WEST Community,
We have had another positive Covid case reported in our Accelerate group. The positive test result came from a rapid test and the swimmer was last at practice yesterday, Wednesday 1/19 4-6pm.
The Accelerate Group will be quarantined until Tuesday 1/25. Accelerate swimmers that have recently (within 90 days) recovered and completed their 10 day quarantine from Covid and anyone not at practice during the exposure are clear to continue. Coach Carlene will be sending out more information to the impacted swimmers.
Additionally, we’ve had another key staff member come down with symptoms and will be quarantining for the next 5 days. The staff shortage from employees either out due to exposure or symptoms is forcing some programs to be canceled. We are actively working on staff scheduling and will be sending out a detailed breakdown of the impact later today.
Symptoms Reminder: we are seeing in multiple cases the onset of mild symptoms starting while continuing to test negative for 2-3 days. If you experience symptoms coming on (scratchy throat, runny nose, head and body aches, etc) you need to stay out for 5 days. We recommend waiting at least 3 days before getting tested to confirm whether you may have Covid, since you could test negative initially and still be infected. If your symptoms have improved and you do not test positive, you may return to the pool after day 5.
