Hello WEST Community,
Welcome to March everyone! Awesome job to all our racers and parent volunteers who helped at the meet this past weekend! We’re proud of how everyone swam and supported each other in and out of the water - go team!

Weekend Schedule:
Normal Schedule on Saturday 3/5/22 for all programs which include the competitive team, PreComp, SwimFit, Swim Lessons, and lap / open swim. WEST is closed on Sunday.
Olympian Clinic #1: Next Weekend 3/11!
WEST is so excited to have Colleen Young visiting our competitive swimmers next weekend on Friday and Saturday. Coaches will be releasing more information regarding practice schedule and itinerary shortly.
A little bit about Colleen:
Colleen was born with the genetic condition Albinism and because of this, she cannot produce any melanin. This results in having no pigmentation in her hair, skin, and eyes. This also leads to having a visual impairment. When she was 14 years old, Colleen made the 2012 Paralympic Games in London for Para Swimming. Colleen has gone on to three Paralympic Games, several world championships, and swam at Fairfield University (a D1 college).

Team Families: Please declare through the Events page online! Entries will be posted ASAP.
Quick Guide to knowing what meet to attend:

Swimmers Qualified for Champs: you will ONLY attend WA State Age Group Champs

Swimmers NOT qualified for WA State Age Group Champs, but qualified for Spring Fling: please attend the Spring Fling.

If you are not qualified for the Spring Fling or WA State Age Group Champs, you will attend the MMSC Invite the same weekend as Spring Champs!

April Weekend Breaks
The swimmers have been working incredibly hard this year and we have scheduled in some time off after their championship meets to rest, recover, and refresh before we jump into spring training. Please note the following practice adjustments for all competitive team groups:
No club team practices on Friday April 1.
No club team practices on Saturday April 2.
No club team practices on Friday April 8.
No club team practices on Saturday April 9.
Mask Mandate Update at WEST: To Be Announced
We understand that the statewide mask mandate will be lifted on March 12. WEST will be sending out a separate detailed email regarding how this will impact operations and we thank you for your patience!
