Weekend 1 of Championship Season is upon us! Please see below for pertinent information about the WA AG State Champs Meet this weekend! If you are attending the MMSC Meet, your meet info email will come out no later than Wednesday.

 

  • Apparel

    • You should ONLY be wearing WEST team clothing and a WEST cap, even during warm-up.

    • Please refrain from wearing any clothing from other sports teams (high school, collegiate, professional, etc.)

    • Everyone should wear their lime green Popeye WEST shirt on Saturday! If you don’t have one, please email Coach Tim with your size and group ASAP!

  • Relays

  • Masks/Vaccination

    • As per the governor’s mandate, there is NO mask requirement at the meet; masks are optional. While WEST recommends masks, we will not require it.

    • If you choose to wear a mask, please bring a labeled plastic or silicone bag and a small towel or washcloth again, and bring extras!

    • There will be no vaccination checks.

  • Cellphones

    • Please remember: there should be absolutely NO cell phones out during swim meets.

    • Swimmers - All seeding and meet information can be found posted around the pool, and/or is sent out ahead of time. Swim meets are a great time to forge relationships and make your team stronger! You can play music, but just press play and then put it away. Enjoy the time away from the digital world!

    • Parents - Please refrain from messaging or calling your swimmers while they are on deck at a meet. Checking a phone for a message from a parent can quickly change to browsing social media and other apps. Please allow your swimmers to remain present and with their teammates during the meet. 

  • Warm-up/down

    • You should be in the water no later than 1 hour before the start of your session. You may arrive and get in earlier if you’d like, but it should be no later than 1 hour before the start of your session.

    • Warm-ups are not assigned, so you can get in any lane.

    • Prelims Warm-up: 7:20-8:50am (in the water no later than 8:00am), meet starts at 9:00am.

    • Finals Tentative Warm-up: 4:00-5:00pm (in the water at 4:00pm), meet tentatively starts at 5:15pm.

    • The dive tank will not be open for warm-up or warm-down during the meet, breaks have been built in (you can see them in the timeline).

  • Timed finals events - positive check-in

    • All swimmers must provide their own timers (and counters if necessary) for timed finals (400 IM, 500 Free, 1650 Free). Positive check-in for 400 IM, 500 Free, and 1650 closes at 10:00am each day at the Clerk of Course.

  • Parking

    • Parking is very limited due to the Covid testing in the back, so drop off is recommended.

    • Please have your bag in hand if you are getting dropped off to expedite the process!

    • The little league parking lot will also be available for free parking.

    • Please note, there is no RV parking or other oversized vehicles allowed in the KCAC lot or on side streets.

  • Spectators

    • Spectators WILL be allowed! Yay!

    • Athletes will be sitting on deck behind the coaches; spectators must remain in the bleachers.

    • Please do not call your athlete(s) up to the bleachers unless there is an emergency.

  • Volunteer Positions

    • Timing positions are now available for signup on TeamUnify. 

    • After you check-in for your volunteer tag/name badge, please head down to the pool deck for the timers meeting in the room next to the clerk of course to the left of the glass windows.

    • While we are starting at 1 spot per account, we will open up to 2 spots per account tomorrow if spots are not filled.
