Summer Team - End of Season Wrap Up
Hello Summer team!
This is our last week of practice, how exciting! We are so proud of everyone’s hard work this year!
Fall Placements
During the week we’ve been giving the swimmers their certificates with the group placement for next season (fall). I know there must be a lot of questions but I will try to clear up everything.
This fall we are having changes to group structure which let us operate more efficiently with our coaching staff, align our training load to prepare our competitive swimmers for NCAA requirements, improve swimmer progression within the program and create age group cohesiveness. We are working hard to improve accountability and consistent expectations across swimmers and coaches. We understand that change doesn’t happen easily and expect some growing pains along the way.
We will rename the existing training groups to more accurately depict each level. The new group names will be Rec 1 for pre-comp, Rec 2 for swim-fit and we will be adding a varsity group for 13 and overs named Rec 3. This will create a more linear progression through the Recreation group and more importantly, facilitating team camaraderie. This will improve the quality of training and reinforce individual swimmer bonds. Please review our Recreation Team info here.
If you received a certificate with a group placement for the lessons program, there are some technique and endurance details we need to work on before adding more yardage and complexity into the practice. We want to make sure we are setting the swimmers to succeed in their age group and feel appropriately challenged according to their swimming skills and age.
And if your swimmer will not be attending practice this week please send Coach Mariana ([email protected]) an email so I can email you their certificate with their group placement for next season.
2022 End of Summer Team Picnic
Just a friendly reminder to all our summer team families that The End of the summer picnic will be held at WEST Coast Aquatics on Friday, August 5th from 12:00 - 1:00pm. WEST will provide light snacks and sodas. We will set up on the grass outside so please bring your own foldable chairs and blankets to sit outside and enjoy the weather!
This is the time of year where swimmers can celebrate their achievements and hard work this summer so please plan to be in attendance and is for all practice groups! Swimmers will also be able to play in the pool after eating.
Due to the Picnic, there will be NO PRACTICES Friday, August 5. We can’t wait to see everyone at the pool!

Q: I did not declare my swimmer, can they still get into the meet?
A: Deck entries will be allowed at this meet with a fee but swimmers MUST bring exact cash ($5 per event) as they can not guarantee to have any change. Check or card is not permitted. Swimmers and parent that must do a deck entry will need to visit the Clerk of Course during warmups.

Q: Will there be a livestream?
A: We are not sure if the aquatics center is still doing their live stream, but if they are it would be streamed to the Snohomish Aquatics Center's YouTube page.
Best,
Coach Tim, Coach Mariana, & WEST Coaching Staff
