2024/25 Team Captain: Applicants have met with many of the swimmers from all groups, and it is now time to solicit feedback from our members. Swimmers; please cast your vote here. The survey will close on Sunday, June 23. The Blue, Bronze, and Silver groups will also conduct a manual vote during a practice next week, as most swimmers at that age cannot access virtual surveys.

Save-the-Date: Join PST in the Piedmont 4th of July Parade!

PST plans to walk in the Piedmont 4th of July Parade to show our team spirit and build excitement before RESL, which kicks off the following day! More details to come. For planning purposes, the parade generally starts around 11am and ends around 12pm with a community picnic and live music in the Piedmont Park. All swimmers and families are welcome to join the team in the parade! If you have a high schooler who would be interested in helping on the day of the parade (in exchange for service hours if that’s an enticing hook!), please contact Erin Schultz for more details.

Tip of The Week:

USA-Swimmings’ High Performance Staff recommends the following meal schedule before practices and races:

And the following for shortly after your race day and quickly after practices: 15-25g protein, 30-60g carbohydrate plus meal

This Week:

Thurs, 6/20:

All afternoon practices are canceled as our staff is traveling to the Reno Meet.

Fri - Sun, 6/21-23:

All practices are canceled due to the Reno Meet.

Fri - Sun,

Reno Gamble Age Group Meet (location: Reno, NV). 58 PST Swimmers are attending.

Meet Jobs: Sign ups for the Reno Meet will open at 8p.m. on Monday, 6/17, and close at midnight on Tuesday, 6/18. We are closing on Tuesday instead of Wednesday as most families will be traveling on Thursday.

There is no shade at the Reno pool, and for swimmers to be comfortable, we will need canopies and side panels. Temperature is scheduled to be close to 100 degrees. Please consider taking and bringing home a canopy, buckets, and side panels to help our swimmers be more comfortable at the venue. We are going to award more service hours for these jobs than usual, but will only assign timing chair duties if necessary. If we don’t have any takers, we will have to rent canopies in Reno, and charge families registered for the meet for the extra rental cost.

Social Events: If your family is interested in participating in informal social events over the weekend, please add your email to this spreadsheet and expect more details later this week. All social plans will take place at the Sierra Grand Resort:

Thursday: Meet at Fun Quest around 5pm.

Friday: Meet at Yogurt Beach for frozen yogurt sometime between 7:00–7:30pm.

Saturday: Join teammates for dinner at Chickie's and Pete's around 6:30pm.

Please contact Erin Schultz, Ellie Judy, Heta Dave, or Kira Goodman with questions.

Warm-Ups: More details will be sent out next week. However for now, 13&Older should plan to be at the pool by 7:30am and 12&Younger should be at the pool by 12:30pm

Scratches: Please read the scratch rules and penalties carefully in the meet sheet. It helps to submit scratches in advance to make the meet run smoother.

Next Week:

Mon, 6/24:

Platinum, YRHS, Gold, and Silver practices are canceled. Staff and swimmers need to recover from the Reno meet.

Tue, 6/25:

Mizuno Rep at Platinum practice. Great opportunity to try out and sample their latest and fastest suits and products.

Important Dates, Cancellations and Practice Updates:
