FAQs
The Andover High School Swim and Dive teams are open to all 7th-12th grade athletes, regardless of ability. We compete as a team and as individuals. Success is measured on more than just wins and losses. We want to and strive to win, but we have great pride in doing our best and putting forth our best effort.
Who can join the team?
All students in grades 7th-12th at Andover High School, Oak View Middle School, Legacy Christian Academy, and local home schoolers are eligible to join the team, no matter your experience level!
Do I need to know how to swim/dive?
No! Although we do ask that you have at least basic swimming skills, you do not need to be familiar with all the racing strokes or how to dive to join. Each athlete has the opportunity to compete against their skill level and to contribute to the team.
Will middle schoolers feel included on the team?
Yes! The swim and dive teams typically have several middle schoolers. The teams are incredibly inclusive and middle schoolers do not feel too young or excluded.
Plus, by joining as a 7th or 8th grader, athletes will set themselves up for even greater success in high school!
When and how do I register for the Andover High School Swim and Dive Team?
The Girls’ team participates during the Fall sports season. Registration typically begins the first week of August each year and is completed through AHConnect.
The Boys' team participates during the Winter sports season. Registration begins in October or early-November each year and is completed through AHConnect.
A current sports physical needs to be on file with Andover High School prior to registering.

How do I get to practices and meets?
Practices:
Due to pool equipment failure at Oak View Middle School, our teams practice at the Anoka Middle School for the Arts - Fred Moore pool. This is the pool where our teams host home meets and where our teams practiced prior to 2019 when the Oak View Middle School pool was reopened. Generally, the school district provides transportation for athletes to the Anoka Middle School for the Arts - Fred Moore pool; however, high schoolers who can drive typically get themselves to and from practices. Athletes are responsible for getting themselves home from practice. Generally, this is not a barrier to participation and, if you are willing to help carpool, it is always appreciated!
Meets:
Athletes are bussed to and from away meets. For home meets, athletes will be bussed to the Anoka Middle School for the Arts - Fred Moore pool in Anoka but will need to be picked up or carpool home after the meets - there is no return bus after home meets.
