BAM News: BAM Boosters, Traffic Alert, and TeamUnify
Happy Wednesday, BAM!
June’s taking a leaf from March’s playbook: in like a lion (complete with downed trees and power outages), and out like a lamb (the forecast shows partial clouds and temps in the low 70s for the foreseeable future). (I hope I didn’t jinx us.)
News for the week:
- Traffic Alert! For the early swimmers on Thursday and Friday: contractor crews will be adjusting the barriers on 305 in the vicinity of Adas Will Lane starting at 8p on Wednesday and Thursday evening, and continuing until 6a the following mornings.
- The BAM Boosters are looking for new members! The Boosters enrich the team by:
- supporting the coaches (funding continuing education, and travel and lodging for meets);
- buying equipment (fins, paddles, parachutes, and other swim toys);
- creating and selling team merchandise;
- running our annual home swim meet, BAMFest; and
- providing scholarships to swimmers in financial need.
This last one – the scholarships – is the one that means the most to me. (And I’m the BAMFest meet director!) Financial problems can hit so unexpectedly and painfully; being able to continue swimming with supportive teammates when life outside the pool is chaotic and stressful is an extraordinary gift.
- Using your cell phone to look for the SignUpGenius link on the TeamUnify website? You might not be able to find it. Some information from the website doesn’t display when viewed on a cell phone. For now, please use a laptop/computer until a workaround is found.
- July 6-7: PNA LCM Meet. Deadline for entries is June 30.
- July 27: Fat Salmon. Down to 23 spots remaining.
