BAM News: No practice on July4, 5,000 Meter Challenge

I hope you have been enjoying watching the USA Swimming Trials on TV! Tomorrow is the last day of school, and the day after that is the first day of summer. Time to relax and take a break – I hope everyone appreciates the message in this week’s SignUp.

News for the week:

• Holiday schedule: There will be no practice on Thursday, July 4!
• And while we’re on the topic, here’s a reminder that BAM will be on its annual summer hiatus for the last two weeks of August. The last practice will be Friday, August 17, and practice will resume on Tuesday, September 3.
• Do you like swimming distance and challenging yourself?  See info below for how to sign up to swim at Federal Way for the 5,000 Meter Challenge on Sunday, July 7!
  • USMS 5K Virtual Championship
    Federal Way’s Aquatic Center has been reserved for 2 hours on Sunday, July 7 to allow PNA swimmers to participate in this year’s USMS 5K Virtual Championship event. The 5K swim will begin shortly after the conclusion of the LCM Summer Meet. An estimated start time will be established after the meet entry deadline, and no later than July 3.
    
    Important Details:
     
  • 16-person limit – 2 swimmers per lane
  • $25 fee to help defray the lane rental cost. Bring cash or check (payable to PNA)
  • Official application and USMS liability waiver are required
  • Proof of USMS registration in the 2024 5K Virtual Championship is required
