BAM News: Heat Wave, and Open Water Swims in Seattle and Chelan
Happy Wednesday, BAM!
From the National Weather Service: heat advisory in effect from 8a Thursday through 11p Friday. Temperatures from the mid-80s to mid-90s.
I don’t usually enjoy heat waves, but August was so cool this year that I’m looking forward to another taste of summer.
Happy Birthday to the following BAMmers with birthdays in September!

News for the week:
- You’ll notice something different in this week’s SignUp: Coach April is holding a pre-BAMFest Starts-and-Turns practice on Tuesday, September 10 in parallel with the 11:45 practice. The SignUp is limited to 8 swimmers, but don't worry if you don't get a spot because there will be more of these practices in the next few weeks.
- Want to help kids learn to swim? Enter the Lake Chelan Swim, a fundraiser for free swim lessons in the Lake Chelan area, this Saturday, September 7th. The deadline to enter is today at 5p (sorry for the late notice).
- Or would you rather support cancer research via the Swim Across America – Seattle Open Water Swim, also this Saturday, September 7th? (I couldn’t find a registration deadline on the web page….)
- Finally, don’t forget to register for BAMFest, our annual home swim meet!
See you at the pool.
Tamara
