BAM News: BAMFest!

Bainbridge Aquatic Masters

Happy Wednesday, BAM!

It’s that time…

BAMFest 2024!

BAMFest – Should I compete?
Ever watch someone try something new and out of their comfort zone?
Did you think “good for them – that took a lot of guts!”
Now it’s your turn.
Nervous that you’ll finish dead last in your age/gender group? Guess what: at last year’s BAMFest, in almost 95% of the events, finishing dead last also meant that you finished top-three and won a ribbon. Proof of your swimming prowess to share with family, friends, and neighbors.
Side note: 100%  of the swimmers in the 100 Butterfly, 200 IM, and 500 Free won a ribbon. Anyone ambitious enough to take on a challenge?

Compete in your home pool!
I am very proud of the fact that BAMFest has developed a reputation as a welcoming place for newcomers to swim in their first-ever (or first-in-a-long-time) masters meet. To all the BAMmers who fall in this category: what better place to swim your first meet than in your home pool, surrounded by friends and teammates?

Deadline to enter is Sunday, September 29

BAMFest Volunteers
It takes a lot of people to host a swim meet.
You (and your family and friends) can help. We have volunteer opportunities for everyone!
Want to be part of the action? We need Timers.
Only have a couple hours to spare? Pool Deck Volunteers can be scheduled for short shifts.
No time to spare, but want to contribute? Food Providers donate items for concessions and hospitality.
Please check out the SignUp and be part of our annual BAM Boosters fundraiser!

For the sake of the organizers’ sanity, please sign up by Sunday, September 29.
Or sooner.

See you at the pool. And at BAMFest.
