BAM News: Q&A Meeting Recap; SignUpGenius Changes; Practice Schedule Change, Meets, and Clinic
Happy Wednesday, BAM!
I hope everyone read the recap email for the Questions and Answer meeting a couple weeks ago. If you didn’t, take a look at it on
BAM’s website under “Latest News”.
One of the incipient changes is that the SignUps will close at midnight on Sundays – BAMmers will not be able to add or change SignUps after that time*. A number of people have asked: what if I wake up sick and can’t make it to a practice I signed up for?
Answer: If you miss a practice you signed up for, you will be required to swim a 400 IM at your next practice.
Just kidding.
Real answer: If you wake up sick… go back to sleep and get well. If you’re able to send an email (
[email protected]) to let us know you won’t be at practice, great, but it’s not a priority. If a swimmer is making a habit of not attending practice when someone else could use the spot, Coach April will check in with them. But for the rest: life happens, we get it.
This answer holds for issues with illness, injury, family, friends, work, weather, appliances, vehicles, etc. (As I’m writing this list and thinking about all the things that can happen to keep us out of practice, I’m getting more and more impressed with how many of us show up on a regular basis.)
*As with many of the renovation-related changes, this Sunday deadline may be altered as we figure out what is and isn’t working for BAM and all other pool patrons. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
