BAM News: Power?, Good Luck March Madders, Schedule Change (again), and Upcoming Meets

Bainbridge Aquatic Masters

Happy Wednesday, BAM!

Everyone still here? No one blown away?

Who’s still waiting for power to be restored? I’m one of several people working in the Aquatic Center lobby today. Power, internet access, tables and chairs, the smell of chlorine… it’s got everything one could ask for in a temporary workplace.

Good luck to Andi Hunt, Larry Hile, and Brian Allen in Sunday’s March Madness swim! May you have powerful swims, even if you don’t have power at home.

News for the week:

  • For those who haven’t heard: the Ray pool closure has been delayed by another week, until March 10. Practice will continue with the current schedule until then.
  • There’s a new meet on the schedule! Close by, too. The Shamrock Showdown in Port Angles, Saturday, March 15, a dual sanction meet attended by both Masters and age-group swimmers. Registration opened this morning and closes next Wednesday, March 5th.
  • The PSM Pentathalon is a week after that, on Sunday, March 23. Registration closes on Sunday, March 16. (If you’re unfamiliar with swimming pentathalons, take a look at the registration page. It’s a fun concept.)
  • Find the winners of this week’s raffle in the “Latest News” on BAM’s SportsEngine web page. This week’s raffle has a new challenge: take a look at the bulletin board in the Aquatic Center lobby – it has project updates and the Nakata schedule for the next few months. To enter this week’s raffle, send me an email ([email protected]) with the answer to this question: what color are BAM’s practices on the schedule? Winners will be selected via random drawing next Tuesday, March 4, at 7:00pm.

This is it, folks. Our last “normal” SignUp before the Ray pool closes for renovation. (Déjà vu, anyone?) Enjoy every minute in the pool, then bid it farewell and stay tuned for the new and improved version!

See you at the pool.
