BAM News: !!PNA Champs!! and Schedule Change
Happy Wednesday, BAM!
Did you know that BAM is not a team? We’re a workout group in larger regional team, called Puget Sound Masters (PSM). When we compete at BAMFest, or Nationals, or any other meet, we represent PSM (and we can swim on relays with our PSM teammates). The only exception to this is PNA Champs! At PNA Champs we represent BAM, we earn points for BAM, and we compete against other workout groups as BAM.
How do we earn points for BAM? By
signing up to swim and placing in the top eight in the event and age group. What’s that you say – you’ve never swum in a meet before (or haven’t raced in years), you’re slow, there’s no way you’ll place in the top eight? Think again! I took a good look at last year’s results: everyone who swam at PNA Champs last year placed top eight in at least one of their events. In the age groups over 50, most of the events had no more than three swimmers! All those points, left on the table waiting for you to claim them! Join Melissa, Marcus, Amanda, Cathy, Steve, Bill, Andi, Kate, Kathleen, Rod, Barney, me, and Coach April at PNA Champs on Saturday and/or Sunday, April 12 and 13 at KCAC in Federal Way.
News for the week:
-
Sign up for PNA Champs – the deadline to enter is this Sunday, April 6, at 11:59pm.
-
Reminder: practice this Sunday, April 6, will be at 7a at Nakata.
-
Next week is spring break for Bainbridge schools (practice schedule is normal). Enjoy the light traffic!
See you at the pools.
