BAM News: Pizza Party, Sundays at Olympic High School, and a Swim Clinic

Bainbridge Aquatic Masters
Happy Wednesday, BAM!

It’s breaststroke week! My knees aren’t thrilled, but the improvement in my stroke makes their grumbling worthwhile.

A good time was had by all at the BAM Boosters Pizza Party last Saturday! Badminton, corn hole, lawn bowling, a trivia competition, and some really good vegetarian pizza (also pepperoni and cheese pizzas). Many thanks to the BAM Boosters (Cynthia, Tim, Barbara, Dennis, Larry, Toni, Jocelyn, and Steve) for hosting this event!

News for the week:
  • Are you looking for a longer practice in a pool with more lanes to spread out in? Join the Sunday Squad at Olympic High School! There’s a regular practice from 3:00 to 4:15, followed by a meet-prep workout from 4:15 to 5:30 (featuring block starts, relay exchanges, and getting the most from your underwaters and turns). Uncertain about swimming in a new environment? Several of your teammates have been there already and will be happy to walk/talk you through it.
Both practices are open to all BAMmers.
  • TWIM is offering an innovative Lasting Improvements Swim Clinic at the Snohomish Aquatic Center on Saturday, June 28 from 9:30 to 11:30. (Pre-clinic Zoom session on Sunday, June 22, from 4:00 to 5:30; post-clinic Zoom session on Sunday, July 6 from 4:00 to 5:00.) Enrollment is limited to 30 swimmers; sign up if you’re interested.
See you at the pools.
