BAM News: Schedule Change, Parade Participation, Nationals, and Long Course (50m) Opportunity
Happy Wednesday, BAM!
School’s out! Kinda sorta. Almost.
Next Monday is the official last day of school; tomorrow is a holiday (Juneteenth). Anyone want to venture a prediction for attendance rates on Friday? (February’s snow days really messed with the end-of-school-year schedule.)
News for the week:
-
Another week, another Sunday schedule change! New time and location for this Sunday’s Race Rehersal workout: Sunday, June 22, 4:30 to 6:00 in Nakata (Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center).
-
The Park District (BIMPRD) is celebrating 60 years of operating in the Bainbridge Island community. Part of the celebration is being at the beginning of the July 4th parade! They are looking for at least 5 more Aquatic participants to walk the parade and represent! Because the Aquatic Center was opened in the 1970s, all Aquatic participants are encouraged to dress in 1970s garb. If you would like to represent our Aquatic history by being in the parade, please reach out to [email protected] for more details.
-
Congrats to Barney and Cathy, the lastest BAMmers to sign up for Summer Nationals! When they finish their races they will be in the top 0.0002% of US swimmers their age.

Want to know what it’s like to swim in a 50m pool? Puget Sound Masters (PSM) has arranged for a time trial at KCAC in Federal Way on Sunday, July 6. This is not an official meet, but an opportunity to practice swimming and racing in a long-course pool prior to Summer Nationals. Registration is required.

See you at the pools.
