BAM News: SAM Invitational, Virtual Championship, Stroke Clinic, and Schedule Reminders

Bainbridge Aquatic Masters
Happy Wednesday, BAM.

Congratulations to all the BAM and BISC swimmers who swam in the Pumpkin 500! The kids had a first-hand opportunity to learn that some swimming challenges (loosing goggles when diving in) are universal, and that even grown ups have to just keep on swimming when it happens.

Congratulations to Andi, Ali, and Deb for completing the 3000 Yard Virtual Championship! Anyone else want to swim 60x 50 yards? See below for more information.

News for the week:
  • Registration for the Snohomish Aquatics Masters Invitational Meet closes this Sunday, just before midnight. Join four of your BAM teammates (Melissa, Heather, Marcus, and Julee) on Nov 9 (a week from Sunday) at the Snohomish Aquatic Center. (One more male BAMmer is needed to field a BAM mixed relay.)
  • Andi, Ali, and Deb did it… are you up to the challenge?   Register for the 3000 Virtual Championship – that’s 60x 50s! There’s space for eight more swimmers (four at 11:45p and four at 1:00p) to swim on Tuesday, Nov. 4 – the weekly SignUp has slots if you want to sign up. Swimmers must have their own counter/timer to track their progress.
  • Want to level-up your strokes? It’s a drive, but it’s worth it: there are still slots available in the Stroke Development Clinic on Sunday, November 16 in Vancouver, Washington, from 8:00a to 12:30p. (Note that the announcement says 5:00a to 9:30a – that’s Eastern Time, which translates to 8:00a to 12:30p local time.) Register to save your spot.
  • Reminder: this Saturday, Nov 1 the men’s and women’s locker rooms will be closed to BAMmers at the 6:25a practice due to a BISC swim meet. Family dressing rooms will be available.
  • There will be no practice on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in honor of Veterans’ Day. The pool will be operating under a modified schedule; BAMmers are welcome to use their BAM membership to swim during lap swim hours.
See you at the pool.
