BAM News: Out by 8a on Saturday, Parking, Meet Prep Practices, Phase 2, and Viking International
Happy Wednesday, BAM.
When I wished for snow, I meant *
here*, not the rest of the US. My apologies to the BAMmer stranded in Dallas due to the record snowfall there.
News for the week:
-
There is an age-group meet this Saturday (and Sunday). To conform with USA Swimming Safe Sport regulations, the locker rooms will close at 8:00a. If you’re swimming at the 6:25a practice on Saturday, you’ll need to move quickly in and out of the locker room if you want to change before leaving.
-
Aquatic Center Parking: Marjorie and Jenette have been monitoring parking spaces during the busiest hours of the morning between 7:30-9am, and the spots are, indeed, only being used by Aquatic Center patrons and not high school students. We love to swim and it shows in our parking lot! Pack patience, carpool, or arrive early for best results.
-
In preparation for the upcoming meets, Coach April will be running meet prep practices on Tuesdays at 11:45 every week in February and into March. Look for them in the SignUp.
-
From a recent communication from BIMPRD, an update on the Ray Williamson Pool Rehabilitation: “Phase 2 is scheduled to go out to bid in early February, with the bid period open for approximately four weeks. Following contractor selection, a final construction timeline will be negotiated. Once work begins, the Ray Williamson Pool is expected to close through October or November of 2026.”

Registration for the Western Washington Viking International should go live any time now – keep an eye on the PNA website if you want to be one of the first to sign up. The meet will be on Sunday, February 14. If it follows the same format as it has in past years, it will include the 50, 100, and 200 of each stroke; the 100, 200, and 400 IM; and the 500 Free.
See you at the pool.
