WEEK TWO UPDATE: Practice Reminder and Announcements (with attachments)
Hey Cardinal Hill Swim Team Families!
Happy Memorial Day! This is email will have a LOT of information - please stick with it until the end!
Our 2025 water portion of summer swim season is scheduled to begin TOMORROW!
That said… this weather is NOT summer swim friendly! There will be times that Cardinal Hill Recreation Club will not open to its members because of chilly temps, and swim team will still hold practice. (The pool closing does NOT mean that swim team automatically cancels). Generally, if the air temp is above 70 degrees, we hold water practice. There will possibly be times that it is close so we still hold practice - please make sure to get in the habit of checking your emails before a swim team practice or meet this summer. Email is our form of communication (not social media) and any official updates will be sent here.
We are evaluating our plan for tomorrow’s practice and will communicate once we have it solidified. As a reminder, practices times are on our website calendar. There is also a reminder attachment to this email. Practice times are:
Swimmers 8 and under: MW evening 5:30-6:30pm, T/Th/F morning 10-11am
Swimmers 9 and older: MW evening 6:30-8pm, T/Th/F morning 9-10am
Attendance to all practices is not mandatory but highly encouraged. We do not need to know if your swimmer will not be at practice, but we MUST know if they plan to swim in a meet. We will send our directions later this season on how to declare attendance for a meet. Athletes who are not committed to going will not be placed in events. Likewise, athletes who are committed as going to a meet are expected to be there. Our coaches put in a lot of time and effort to creating our meet schedules, and it makes things very tricky that changes.

-If you are paying your registration fees by check, please bring that with you to the your child’s first practice.

-A team suit is optional, but we recommend any black or red suit to show our team spirit! Girls’ suits MUST be one-piece. Boys may wear trunks, jammers, or speedos.
-Team photos are scheduled for this coming Friday’s practice 5/30/25 at 9am. ALL swimmers, please arrive by 9am to have our team photo done. For those swimmers NOT purchasing individual photos, you will begin water practice after the team photo is done. For swimmers who are purchasing sibling or individual photos, those will be taken first then you will begin water practice during what is left of the time. For this practice, it is a good idea for parents to stay close by, as the timeline may shift depending on how many participate.
