Champs - What to Expect
Saturday morning, our swimmers should arrive at the Robert Wilson Park Pool in West Carrollton (1226 S Elm St, West Carrollton OH 45449) by 7AM in order to park, find your tent, and get swimmers ready for warmups.
7am - arrival time
7:15am - Volunteer Coordinator meeting (outside pool office)
7:25-7:45am - CHST warm up in water
7:45am - 1st Shift Officials meeting (Peninsula near scoring tent)
7:45am - 1st Shift Timers meeting* (Behind starting blocks)
8:15am - Meet starts!
The meet typically wraps up between 4-5pm, depending on weather and attendance.
*Other shift timers - meet 15 minutes prior to shift start under the pavilion on the starting side of the pool
Heat sheets are available to purchase at the meet and are not sent out ahead of time. If you put in for a spirit ad and have not yet paid, please pay our league rep Sara Krouse ASAP.
Gas/propane grills (including Blackstones) are not permitted at the park. Please plan accordingly.
See attached for concession options. Kona Ice and Travelin’ Tom’s coffee truck will also be available!
Reminder from the league:
-Camera use behind the blocks is prohibited
-Please use good sportsmanship
-Ribbons are not available during the meet. Any ribbons/awards earned during Champs will be available following our award ceremony on Sunday 7/13.
What to bring
Water! Sunscreen! Snacks, cash, several towels, sweat pants/hoodie in case your swimmer gets chilly, a deck of cards or other activity to keep your swimmer entertained during the day. Bring tape to hang your banner. (Possibly an umbrella or poncho!) Pack a cooler, bring your lawn chairs, and come ready for a long but fun day!
