JUNE 17 ‘A’ MEET RECAP
It was a beautiful but buggy morning at the Still Pond Pool yesterday as we kicked off the season against the Froggers of Franklin Farm. We fought the good fight and many of our kids had some great swims but their depth was just too much for us to overcome this week and we lost by a score of 299-145.

TEAM RECORDS
1) Last week at Time Trials we had our 1st Team Record of the season broken!
Emma Cigna broke the Girls 15-18 50M Backstroke record (set just last year in 2022) with a time of 32.47. We suspect we may be reporting her name again this season. Congrats Emma!!
2)
Yaron Li broke his own record from last season at Saturday’s A Meet in the Boys 13-14 50M Freestyle with a time of 25.54. He is his own best competition. Congrats Yaron!!
3)
Boys 13-14 200M Medley Relay Team consisting of
Kyle Gadsby, Jason Xin, Yaron Li, Noah Sharabi shattered the old record set in 2019 by over 9 seconds with a blistering time of 2:01.10!
ANNNNDDD…………. DRUM ROLL………..
THEY ALSO SET A NEW COLONIAL SWIM LEAGUE RECORD!!! The old record was 2:03.37 set in 2018. We are so excited for these young men and it is only the 1st meet, what else do they have up their sleeves? Congrats to Kyle, Jason, Yaron, and Noah!!!!
MORNING PRACTICES BEGIN
Tomorrow
on Mon June 19 practices will move to mornings for the rest of the season. The schedule is as follows:
Monday-Friday through July 21
Ages 13 & Older — 7:00-8:00am
Ages 9-12 — 8:00-9:00am
Ages 8 & Under — 9:00-9:45am
If you have a swimmer that needs a different practice time because of camp or other obligations, please talk to Coach Cameron!
WED JUNE 21 ‘B’ MEET VS GLEN COVE, 6PM
Our 1st ‘B’ Meet is this week at our pool. The Glen Cove Pirates from the Blue Division are coming to town so let’s welcome them and show them who’s in charge. This is an evening meet where EVERYONE can swim! Deadline to Declare your swimmers and pick your strokes is Mon June 19. Swimmers are limited to 3 strokes total (including IM) and swimmers who placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in yesterday’s ‘A’ meet cannot swim that particular stroke in this ‘B’ Meet.
MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION ON HOW TO SELECT EVENTS WILL BE RELEASED BY OUR COMPUTER GURUS VERY SOON. You will be able to select events after they open up the files and send out an email, so be on the lookout for that notification.
We will need a lot of volunteers for this meet.

We will have an assorted mix of glazed, chocolate frosted, vanilla frosted and pink frosted donuts to choose from. This is the one practice each week your swimmers don’t want to miss!
SAT JUNE 24 ‘A’ MEET @ BURKE CENTRE PENGUINS
Deadline to Declare your swimmers ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ for this meet is Wed June 21. Coaches will again select the swimmers who will attend this meet so they need to know who is available. Remember not to assume your swimmer won’t be picked for an A meet! Families go on vacations and we are allowed to place kids into older age groups (aka “swimming up”) to fill any empty slots.
Last but not least, we’d like to give a big Stingray shoutout to all the Dads out there on your special day today! KICK BACK, RELAX and ENJOY!
