B MEET vs FORT MYER RECAP
It was a glorious evening for a swim meet and our swimmers had a lot of FUN with the Hawaiian theme! It was awesome to see the warm smiling faces of our youngest swimmers after grabbing their heat winner ribbons and swimming their best race times, especially after the blue lips and sad eyes of the last rainy Wednesday. Concessions sales were a great success especially now that we are taking electronic payments. Overall an A+ Meet, not a B Meet!

A MEET vs ASHBURN VILLAGE RECAP
The Code Orange Air Quality didn’t keep us from jumping in the pool and taking on the Aqua Jets yesterday. While we had some good swims and some exciting relay races, we lost the meet overall by a score of 293-158.

We have only 2 A meets left and here are the League Standings http://csl.nvblu.com/standings.html?sel_lg=4
We are in a tough Red Division this season but we’ll keep battling because THAT is the Stingray Way. Better competition only makes us better swimmers!  Keep on it Team!

We want to thank the Kona Ice Truck for coming out to sell yummy treats in the parking lot during the meet and giving 20% of the proceeds to our swim team!

***If for any reason on the morning of an A Meet you CANNOT make it, PLEASE notify Head Coach Cameron at [email protected]  We understand that illness and emergencies can arise quickly, but having as much notice as possible allows Coaches and Computers to change the swimmer and relay lineups more smoothly and quickly, leading to less stress for everyone involved***

TEAM RECORDS
Emma Cigna   once again chipped away at her own 15-18 Girls 50M Backstroke Record and posted a new time of 32.40.

Yaron Li just keeps turning up the jets and again broke his own 13-14 Boys 50M Freestyle Record with a new time of 24.91.

Congrats Emma and Yaron!

TEAM PICTURE DAY
Olson Photography will be at the pool this Friday morning 7/7 to take team and individual/sibling pictures. More details coming soon but we would like to have as many swimmers there as possible. There will be donuts afterwards!

TEAM SOCIAL
Join us this Friday 7/7 6-8pm at the pool for International Potluck Night! Sign up to bring a dish to share (we will get the sign up out soon). There will also be a Rock Painting craft. Take your rocks home or place them around the neighborhood to share your positive spirit and art.

MOVIE SOCIAL
We have reserved a private showing of the kids movie “Elemental” at University Mall Theatres in Fairfax on Thursday July 13 @ 10:15am. We will end the 3rd practice early at 9:30am that day so we can get over to the theater in time. The cost will be $10/person and includes the movie, popcorn, and a drink. This will be a pre-pay requirement and we will share those details soon. This is not a drop off event.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE THIS WEEK
We WILL have practices on Mon July 3 and Tues July 4 at all the normal times.

We WILL NOT have practice on Weds July 5 so that everyone can sleep in a bit after enjoying BBQs, parades and firework displays. There will be a B Meet that evening though!

********HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!********

MEET VOLUNTEERS
Please check in with the Volunteer Coordinator at meets at least 30 minutes prior to the meet starting. That is 7:30am for A meets and 5:30pm for B meets. They will be the ones carrying around the clipboard and wearing a lanyard. If you aren’t there by this time, it really throws things off and we start to scramble to find volunteer replacements. You are required and expected to STAY until your job is complete. That means Timers staying through IMs, Ribbon workers staying until all Ribbons have stickers on them, Computers staying until all times are inputted etc.

***We beg of you to please do your part, sign up and show up, so our swimmers can continue to have a great season!***
