THE STINGRAY SPLASH, July 16 2023 Edition
The season is quickly winding down and we just completed a crazy stretch of 8 days with 5 meets. Who is ready for a looonnng nap?
There will still be practice this week (and donuts on Friday) for everyone, so let’s finish strong!
IM TOUGH RECAP
It was a pleasant evening for our IM swimmers to strut their stuff in the pool. Nearly everyone dropped time and yes, we did have the Concessions BBQ, it was delicious! Meet results can be found here http://csl.nvblu.com/results.html?sched=63158
B MEET @ CHANTILLY HIGHLANDS RECAP
This was the last chance for many of our swimmers to show off their time improvements and to master a new swim stroke this season, and they did just that! We had a great turnout and the younger swimmers especially enjoyed the close proximity of the playground to the Team Area. There were even some teens enjoying the swings late into the meet. Post your Meet pictures on our FB page https://www.facebook.com/armfieldfarm.stingrays/
A MEET VS CASCADES RECAP
In a Battle of the Winless, when only pride is on the line, there can only be one victor……sadly, it wasn’t us. We went down to the Cascades Rapids yesterday by a score of 272-172 to complete the Dual Meets. We even sacrificed 2 of our young swimmers to the swim gods before the meet but it did us no good. Don’t worry though, rumor has it the sacrificed swimmers made it out of the deep end unscathed and were able to go on to swim their races just fine.

SWIMAPALOOZA
Instead of regular practice on Monday 7/17, we will be playing games and eating pancakes. Come out to the pool from 7:30-9:30am to have some fun with your teammates and Coaches! We are also collecting non-perishable food items for the Community of Faith UMC Food Pantry at the event.
SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to our Stingray Swimmers of the Week!
1st Practice - Aliyah Kiyar
2nd Practice - Emma Lee
3rd Practice - Harper Lyddane
DIVISIONALS
The Divisional Meet will be held Sat 7/22 @ 8am at Cascades Pool. All 6 teams from the Red Division will send their best swimmers to compete for a chance to make the League All Star Meet on 7/29. The Coaches will select the swimmers for this meet and will send the Meet Sheet out in the next couple days. There are volunteer slots open, so if your child is in the meet, please sign up!
BANQUET
Our season end Banquet will take place on Sat July 22 @ 6pm at the pool. All swimmers and their families are invited and all swimmers will receive a medal and paper plate award made by the Coaches. There will be other awards given out as well. Please bring a chair/blanket to sit on and your own dinner and drinks. There will be cake for dessert. Let’s come together and celebrate a wonderful season!
RIBBONS
If your swimmer is looking for Meet ribbons that they didn’t receive, look inside your family folder in the box on the table in the front of the pool house. If you don’t have a family folder, there is a general bin that the ribbons were placed in and they were grouped in order by swimmer last Friday (we can’t guarantee that they are still in order today though). All Ribbons and Awards not picked up by Labor Day weekend will be thrown out.
