Glen May 18th Weekly Update

Hi Glen Glenns,

 

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for the Glen's opening weekend.  Due to the Holiday weekend, there will be no practice Friday, May 23, through Monday, May 26th. Practice will resume on Tuesday, May 27th.

We have some deadlines approaching, so please make sure you have completed all the registration and orders as soon as possible.  If you have friends who are interested in joining the team, please have them register as soon as possible.  Glen memberships are available if they are not members.

Approaching Deadlines:

  • Today:  Registration to ensure your child will receive a shirt
  • Monday, May 19th (tomorrow,) Parent shirt and personalized cap orders and payment due.

 

Upcoming important dates:

Support the Glen and have fun marching in the Memorial Day parade.

The Parade will take place in downtown Farmington on Monday morning.  Exact arrival time and location will be communicated on Facebook, Glen swim team website, and by email on Saturday. We typically line up on Mooney Street between 9:30 and 9:45 AM.

Please wear a Glen Shirt if you have one.  Swim caps, goggles, and other swimming items are encouraged.  Swimmers can walk or ride their bikes.

Green and White Meet and Photos

Saturday, March 31st at the Glen

  • Arrival time for the Team Photo and all volunteers is 8:15 am.

Photos 

  • Individual Pictures are available starting at 7 am until 8:00 AM. 
    • To sign up for an individual photo slot, please use the Sign Up Genius here.
  • A Team photo will be taken following Individual photos, Please wear a black suit if you have one. 
  • Order forms will be available during photos (payment will be made to Focal Point)

Immediately following the team photo, we will hold the Green and White Meet.

  • The Green & White meet is a time trial meet for 12 and under swimmers.  
  • Older Swimmers are expected to volunteer to time or help marshall swimmers at this meet.
  • Please decline this meet if you will not be able to attend.

 

Gator-A-Thon

Saturday, June 7th is the Gator-a-thon.  This fun event is one of our major fundraisers during the season. We are looking to make some timing and scoring updates for the 2026 Season

  • Swimmers will report at their normal practice time and will swim to complete as many laps as possible during their practice time
  • Information and Pledge forms will be available soon on the corkboard at the Glen on the event page and here.
  • Donations can be collected per lap or at a flat rate.

 

11 and Up Relay Meet at Beverly Hills Athletic Club

  • This is an age group mini-meet for our 11 and up swimmers.  All events are relays picked by the coaches
  • If you would like to attend this meet, you must sign up for this meet no later than Monday, June 9th. 

 

We will need to provide a timer for this meet, this job can be split.  The timer's meeting is at 8:45 am.

 

Silicone Cap Orders

  • Each registered swimmer will receive one latex swim cap with the Glen logo.
  • Customized Silicone Caps can be ordered at a cost of 2 caps for $30 on this Google form.
  • Custom Orders and payments are due by May 19th. 
  • Non-customized Silicone Caps are available for purchase at $15 per cap. These can be purchased through Sara Stilwill

 

Parent/Fan Shirts:

  • One group parent t-shirt (with this year’s totem). Orders and payments are due May 19th. 
  • Orders will be taken via this Google Form. 
    • Adult Unisex shirts are $ 20

Volunteer Sign-ups are live.

Each family is obligated to volunteer 8 hours for the summer and contribute to this year’s Euchre Tournament.

  • To volunteer for meets and events, please sign up on each event page.
    • Meet sign-up times are estimates; keep in mind that they may change if meet start times change.
  • Euchre Tournament obligation can be met by volunteering, playing Euchre, attending the dinner and silent auction, finding a sponsor, or donating an item for the silent auction.  These sign-ups are on the Euchre Tournament page or below in this email.

First Glen Swim Team Euchre Tournament

            This year, in addition to the Gator-a-Thon, we will be hosting a family-friendly fundraiser at the Glen, with a Euchre Tournament, Dinner, and a silent Auction.  Join us as we raise funds for essential upgrades, including scoring and timing updates to enhance our swim meet experiences by 2026.

Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025

This family-friendly event offers multiple ways to get involved:

  • Play Euchre! Uno tables will be available for the kiddos.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner!
  • Bid on fantastic items in our silent auction!
