Glen Weekly Update June 22nd

Hi Glenns,

 

Great job this weekend by our 9 and 10 swimmers this weekend and Thank you to all our volunteers. 

Note the deadline for the Euchre tournament sign-up is quickly approaching (July 1st).  Every family needs to support the Euchre tournament in some way, volunteer, donate, or play. 

Please be aware of the upcoming deadlines for meet declaration. Please make sure you are signing up or declining meets as soon as possible.

Upcoming important dates:

• Monday, June 23^rd Away Meet at Woodside Arrival time 4:15 PM
• Thursday, June 26^th Home Meet vs Cranbrook (Decline by Monday June 23^rd)
• Saturday, June 28^th, 8 and under mini-meet (Sign-up by Monday June 23^rd)
• Monday, June 30^th, Home Meet vs Huntington Woods (Decline by Thursday, June 26^th)
• Tuesday, July 1^st: SIGN UP FOR EUCHRE TOURNAMENT DEADLINE, Sponsorships and basket donations are due.
• No Practice July 4^th-6^th. Fun Firecracker Practice on Thursday, July 3^rd.

June 23^rd AWAY Meet at Woodside

  We will be at Woodside Athletic Club on Monday, June 23^rd.

Woodside is at 22440 W. 13 Mile Road, Beverly Hills, MI 48025

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS.  We need 1 timer for each session.   Great way to stay cool by the pool.

• Glen report time: 4:15 PM (pushed back, warm-up starts at 4:20)
• Meet Start Time 5:00 PM

• Parking at the club is available in both our upper and lower lots. There will be reserved spots for coaches as well as the meet official; the rest of the lot will be open for your swimmers.  Overflow parking is available directly across 13 Mile at Detroit Country Day Upper School. There is a crosswalk between DCDS and Woodside that will be manned with a crossing guard to help ferry people safely across the street. 
• Concessions - we will offer full concessions with chicken sandwiches, burgers, pizza, etc.  Please tell your families that cash is easiest, but we will also accept credit cards.
• The Glen will be provided a large area on the side of the pool (where the slides are located) as well as the grassy area near the play structure. Feel free to spread out and use any available space on that side of the pool.

Also please make sure your swimmers are prepared for the temperatures on Monday.  Lots of water, Gatorade, and shade.

 

 

Home Meet vs Cranbrook

If you cannot attend, please decline by Monday, June 23^rd.

We need concession volunteers for this meet.

Parking:

• Please carpool if possible and leave the main Glen lot for our guests. 
• You can park behind the Total Sports Building (do not park on the grass), also behind LOC. 

Report Time is 3:30 PM

Meet Start time is 5:30 PM

 

8 and under Mini Meet

Registration deadline is Monday June 23^rd, This is a positive sign-up meet. Swimmers who do not sign up will not be entered in the meet. 

 

This league-wide meet is for 8U swimmers. It's being held at Woodside Athletic Club. 

Swimmers can choose their own events for this meet. The order of events is on the event page. Please include a note with event preferences when registering.  Swimmers are allowed 2 individual events. (Swimmer entry fees are covered by the club.)

 

Report Time will be announced the week of the meet.

Meet Starts at 9:00 AM

 

 

Gator-A-Thon

Pledges are Due today!  They can be dropped off in the Blue Swim Team lockbox located by the team bulletin board.  We are currently at just over $4600,  so get your pledges in so we can make updates to our timing and scoring systems. 

 

First Glen Swim Team Euchre Tournament

Sign-up Deadline and Donations are due Tuesday, July 1^st. 

We need players, volunteers, and donations to make this event a success.
