2026 Coaching Staff

Niki Rodriguez - Head Coach 

Niki has been swimming her entire life and began coaching as a young teen. She completed her competitive swimming career with Vista Diablo while swimming varsity for Clayton Valley High School. At just 18, she landed her first coaching position with Scottsdale Swim Team, later moving on to Bishop Estates. She then spent several years coaching with Forest Park, where she also provided private swim lessons.

Niki would have happily continued coaching at Forest Park long-term, but like so many others, her path shifted when the pandemic changed life for everyone. During this time, she married her best friend and focused on building her family. She homeschooled her children until 2021, when she took on a new challenge, building her own swim team from the ground up.

That vision became the Solar Sea Monsters Swim Team. Niki coached and led the program while also running a swim school and launching new programming specifically designed for swimmers with special needs. Under her leadership, the team grew from just 15 swimmers to 75, with seven swimmers qualifying for County Championships in last few years she was with the team, an incredible testament to her grit, dedication, and leadership.

Coach Niki is Lifeguard, CPR, and AED certified, and she is fully certified through both USA Swimming and CIF.

Hannah Jacobs - Assistant Coach 

Hey Gators!! My name is Hannah Jacobs and I will be the assistant coach this year. I have been at Gehringer for as long as I remember (I think 13 years at this point) and have loved every season. I first started coaching with the minis around the age of 11, then became a swimmer coach at 16, and was an assistant coach for the first time last year. I am currently in college studying Early Childhood Education with the hope of becoming a kindergarten teacher. I love the gator community and our focus on improvement! I look forward to meeting our new families and reconnecting with families that are returning! This is gonna be a good season! GO GATORS!
