Please see the attached meet results in addition to the rankings in the full pentathlon for people who swam all 5 events legally.

Cherry Blossom Updated Information

I have attached this year’s meet notice and posted it online for reference. There have been some minor changes to the events from last year and some slight adjustments to the timeline.

Conditioning Changes

This is for the Marlins, JR, and SR swimmers. I have heard from a lot of people that they are still interested in conditioning after the championship meets are over. I am thinking about changing things up for the athletes. As we approach Summer Swim and all the sprints, our conditioning really should have a different focus. Without longer events and longer meets to worry about, I want to focus on strength and power. We want to develop athletes, not just swimmers.

So, the plan will be to transition to dry land conditioning after the championship meets are over. This will take place at Aqua Culture and eventually outside once the weather allows for it. We will do swimmer-specific bodyweight strength exercises in addition to some resisted exercises using bands. We will add some plyometrics, and jump training to generate explosiveness. Ultimately the goal will be to create better “movers” and thus better swimmers. Gaining strength, power, and body control will be better for our athletes at this point in the season rather than more and more laps up and down the pool.
