Championships are Finalized!
Hello everyone!
All Championship Meets are Finalized
Now we just need to finish preparing and bring the speed when the time comes. All entries have been submitted. The short course season is set! You can see which events your swimmer is doing on the team website at this time.
Conditioning Update
After looking at the calendar, I saw that there are not that many Sundays available in March and April. We usually have three a month and between all the meets, taking one extra week off, and the Easter Holiday… we are at three total. The end of March could still change a little bit. But I have attached the most recent update to the Calendar. So, billing for the extra day is over as of your most recent payment. The charge for March will cover March(23rd) and the days in April(6th and 27th).
The final plan is to move forward with Dry Land training in the Spring. This means conditioning will move to Aqua Culture and consist of doing bodyweight strength exercises in addition to some resisted exercises using bands, plyometrics, and jump training to generate explosiveness. The goal will be to create better athletes and, thus, better swimmers. Gaining strength, power, and body control will be our main focus.
End-of-Season Celebration
Saturday, May 3rd!
I still have 34 undeclared athletes! Please commit soon. I will plan to send a number to GWL this weekend to reserve the majority of our group.
Long Course Meets
Along with the end-of-season celebration, take a look at the long course meets we have scheduled. We need commitments for those by March 1st, so they are coming sooner than you may think.
Individual Stroke Analysis
I will be scheduling some time over HCPS Spring Break for anyone who is still interested. Post-Champs is a really great time to re-focus and hone in on some new skills or techniques!
Thanks,
Coach Galen
