Week 3 Team Updates

Galen Ziegler

Hello Team!

We are done with Week 3! I hope everyone is figuring things out and settling in.

Updates

Meet Attendance

I wanted to say I appreciate the meet attendance thus far, in addition to the practices! I know vacations might begin now that school is out. But we had a very small percentage of scratches at these first few meets and that speaks to your dedication to our team! Thank you!

How do I track my swimmer’s results?

The attached documents are a great first step. You can also log in to the website or download the “SportsEngine Motion” app. You will be able to access your swimmer’s profile within the app and see all of their best times, convert times from meters to yards, and use other tools.

Meet Commitments

Make sure you get these RSVPs in there. Remember to enter a note if you have specific scheduling issues.

Quick Reminder

No smartwatches can be worn during a race. Jewelry should be removed in most cases for safety and competitive reasons as well.

Looking ahead at week 4!

Practice – We have some changes now that school is out!

  • Morning practices begin this week! Everyone starts at 7:30am on Monday and Tuesday at HCC.
  • Sunday night at HCC. No first group practice on Tuesday night.
  • We are going to focus on some starts and breakouts this week in addition to trying to get some more legal swims in Breast and Fly!

Meets

Meets against Fountain Green(Wed) and Arena Club(Sat) are coming this week.

  • These are both tough in-division matchups. The meets will be scored. The lineups will be constructed in a way that makes us as competitive as possible with these teams.

Sunday Cuts

Quick Reminder again… This is not designed to allow you to pick one day or the other. All swimmers are still expected to swim their maximum number of events(3 individuals and 1 relay if needed). We can work together to pick events that will best suit the athlete and your schedule.

Thanks,

Coach Galen
